Pastures, crops, apple orchards and ferns are four basic components of the farming system. The promiscous, intensive multicrop of corn-beans-turnip has lost importance to fodder crops, especially mixed-hay fields and mid-season potatoes. A range of produce is grown in market gardens. As for fruit, the most popular is apple, followed by walnut, pear, cherry, hazelnut and plum. This crop distribution reflects the importance of livestock farming. Sheep farming, exclusively of the "lacha" breed, is no longer as important it used to be. Pig and horse farming are also traditonal activities; donkey breeding has dropped considerably.
As for forestry work, timber production fluctuates between 3,200 and 3,700 m³ a year: 70% pine and the rest, oak. Common land covers 85% of the municipal district and accounts for 90% of its woodland and 80% of its pastures.
