aquí esta la fechaConsidering that one means of achieving and maintaining peace between peoples is the creation of bonds based on the shared interests and efforts of kindred populations in different countries inspired by the same spirit of liberty and prosperity.
Aware of the bonds of friendship and alliance which have forged the historical relationship between the populations and municipalities of Askaine and Lesaka.
Convinced that close collaboration will prove beneficial, both spiritually and materially, to both municipalities.
Wishing to give legal status to these sincere, close ties of brotherhood.
Determined to collaborate together in order to achieve these ends, the decision has been taken to sign the present
DECLARATION:
The Councils of the Municipalities of Lesaka and Askaine state their unanimous decision to maintain a cordial relationship of friendship, union and brotherhood for the progress, development and well-being of the two populations, united in their firm desire to live in harmony. Under the title of Twin Towns, the two Councils freely undertake to collaborate so that both localities may flourish, their affective relationship based on a shared desire for peace and prosperity may thrive and the creation of a European identity may be strengthened.
The activities shall be performed in the cultural, social and economic spheres, and any sphere of mutual interest, with no limitation in terms of subject matter whatsoever. Both Municipalities shall support activities which may nurture the notion of a shared cultural environment.
The Councils of Lesaka and Askaine shall encourage all kinds of social relationships, formulating, as they see fit, those activities to be studied and carried out by the joint consideration of proposals.
The length of the undertaking of Twin Towns is unlimited and shall be valid for as long as the two municipalities wish to maintain a close relationship of brotherhood, which shall lead to a successive increase in the performance of activites to the good and progress of people.
