The industrial development which took place in Gipuzkoa and a great part of Europe in the XIX century did not overlook the mining complex of the Lower Bidasoa.
Such development was the result of railways, among other factors.
It was not long before the then-mining town of Irún adopted this modern form of transport (1889), which was soon converted into a passenger service (1916), extending the line to Elizondo, thereby providing the entire basin of the Bidasoa with an extremely useful public service which lasted until the end of 1956.

The "Old Tren Txikito" route can still be followed.
On the morning of the 12th of May, the Green Path of the Bidasoa, Lesaka section, celebrated the IX Green Path Day.
To celebrate the day, a range of children's attractions were organised near the bridge of Lesaka: horses, cycle train, bicycles for adults...
As on previous occasions, children and parents from Lesaka and the local district had a great time in these unique surroundings.
